Wet, Windy and Woeful but Always Hopeful.

Wet, Windy and Woeful....
but always hopeful.
20/02/2015 - 6

Today is supposed to be Black Friday, the most depressing day of the New Year, where we all feel that not everything in our worlds is quite on the right track.

It could be anything from work, home or friendships that are not going quite the way you would like them.  You find you are struggling with not only the emotional and spiritual energies flailing but your physical energies fluctuating as well.

I too have on occasions found that my energies during the winter months do fluctuate, and I have been guilty of dwelling in them rather than directing them into a positive vibe.

So, firstly I acknowledge that I am feeling a bit less energised, but I know that the most I can do at this moment is stop and open my heart and mind to all the good that surrounds me, all the many blessings in my life that surround me every day.  I have to stop putting my head in the sand, start raising it too the sun and take a deep breath and just breathe.

After a few moments of breathing,  I feel the rush of energy start to build, I start to listen to my heart, beating strong, purposefully urging that energy to seek out the darkness and replace it with light in every pore of my body.

Moon Shadows

Today as I watch the full moon rise high above my home, I often use it’s essence to fill my space with additional light, because like the moon, there’s a side of you that most people never see. These are your hopes, your dreams, your fears, your wishes, and your desires - the things you scarcely share with others
.
In shamanism, this side of you is known as your shadow side.
We all have a shadow side, it’s part of what makes us balanced.  Our shadow side is simply all that we choose to keep hidden and unexposed from the world - either good or bad.
As the moon travels, starting at new moon and progressing towards full moon, the part that we see becomes less and less hidden, and more and more exposed.  If we choose to, we can use the moon’s energy as a sort of buddy system to help us do the same thing.

We can use the moon’s energy to help our hopes and desires, or our fears and worries, to become less and less hidden and to bring them forth from out of the shadows.

The energy of the new moon can be harnessed to bring all the things you wish would happen and desire to happen up from out of your hidden shadow side and into your reality. You can illuminate and bring forth your hopes and desires - all you have to do is disentangle them from the fears and worries hanging out on your own dark side of the moon.

Here’s how it works. Imagine when you were a child, you’re at an outdoor event with your family (in this example, the moon is your family). There are crowds of people, and you can either look to your family to give you a boost and lift you onto their  shoulders, or you can choose to go it alone and try to make your way through the crowd to see the event on your own.
You can either look to someone bigger and with more energy than you to give you a boost, or you can go it alone.

The moon is an orbiting entity - it’s energetic field is immense, it moves entire oceans. The moon has more available energy than you and I, and you can tap into it in your quest to bring your hopes and desires out of your shadow side and illuminate them into your reality.
This is why the period of the new moon is best used to manifest your desires, create new plans, and start a new cycle.
Because when position yourself to start at the same place that the moon is starting with the beginning of the lunar cycle, you can essentially piggyback on the moon’s energy to make things happen.
The moon is already in a process of illuminating its own shadow side when it starts to move from complete darkness to light, it’s up to you to decide,
“Hey, I want to do that too.”

The keys to tapping into moon energy are two-fold:

1. deciding you want to get on board

Make the decision that you want to line up what you’re doing in your life with where the moon is. The new moon is for making big changes, and bringing things that were hidden about ourselves into our reality - good or bad. Generally, the idea is to use the new moon energy start a major project, to manifest into reality a goal or abundance opportunity, or to make a life transition. These are examples of the hopes and dreams that you may want to  bring out of your hidden, shadow side and into your reality, or into illumination. Imagine you and the moon are side by side on a track - you start your thing at the same time the moon starts its thing and it can pull you on the same trajectory - towards illumination. You get your energy in the moon’s energy field and you tag along. One way you can do this is through an intention setting ceremony.

2.  making sure that you’re in the right frame of mind when the new moon starts

Once you’ve made the decision to piggyback on the new moon’s energy, you need to pay extra careful attention to your mindset in the days approaching, and on the day of, the new moon. Whatever element of your shadow side is in the forefront, this will be the element illuminated with the moon’s energy. So, you want to make sure your focus is on dreambuilding, and not on your fears. If you’re in fear, worry, and panic state, that might be the part of you that dominates, or is illuminated, during the moon cycle.
Just by intention alone, you can position, at least in part, your energy within the energetic field of the moon. In a way, by setting on an intention, you’re tossing a little piece of your hopes and dreams into the moon’s energy field and saying,
“Hey, Moon, carry this with you into illumination.”
Your hopes and dreams = your energy.
So what do you have to lose, come throw up some hope energy into the moon, and it can carry that hope into reality.

Peace, love and Light......Always Arc
